Investment is increasingly becoming a crucial economic activity for the development of nations, Tanzania included. Tanzania is among those countries that have been practically demonstrating its commitment to build strong economy through investment in industries and trade. Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA) is one of the government’s agencies entrusted with a duty to develop the country’s industrial base through attracting investors in their designated areas for investments. Recently, the Authority inaugurated Kishen Import and Export Limited, an industry that deals with manufacturing of motorcycles branded Toyo. An aura of jubilation filled the air during the Kishen Import and Export Limited inauguration recently.
Various stakeholders from both public and private sectors attended the ceremony which witnessed yet another step toward building a viable base of industries.
Kishen Import and Export Limited, an industry operating its activities under Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA) was in the game, ready to produce and contribute toward economic development.
The Minister for Industry and Trade, Dr. Abdallah Kigoda was the guest of honour.
Dr. Kigoda said the successful of Kishen Import and Export Limited is the result of government’s commitment to create enabling environment for investment in different sectors including industries in the country.
He said that the government has been implementing some reforms in policies and regulatory frameworks in order to ensure that investment activities are run smoothly for the development of the country.
Some of the observable government commitment includes construction of basic infrastructures such as roads, railway line, water and sources of energy.
