Mafinga District Commissioner, Hon. Saad A. Mtambule pictured with EPZA Director General Mr. Charles J. Itembe after a two-days training seminar on how to establish and develop Special Economic Zones in the Country. Hon. District Commissioner was accompanied by a team of 16 people, including few experts from his office, executives and the Chairman of the Council from his District, as part of his efforts to establish Investment Zones within Mafinga District.

Among the things they learned were: Allocating Special Areas for Industrial Investment, Developing, Attracting Investors, Increasing Council income through Investment, Creating Employment Opportunities, attracting Local raw materials processing and facilitating Industrial investors within the District .

They also had an opportunity to visit the Mabibo External Special Economic Zone, Benjamin William Mkapa Special Economic Zone, which has projects that has created jobs for more than 5000 people in different sectors including the textile, Electronic Cards, Coffee, Crop Processing Industry and Packaging Materials.
