Today The Kahama District Commissioner Hon. Mboni Mhita with a team of experts from Kahama District have visited EPZA with the intention of learning how to run Special Economic Zones. This step has been reached after the District prepared Investment Zones including Nyanshimbi SEZ and Buzwagi SEZ, where these areas already have basic infrastructure and some companies have already started investing said Hon. Mhita.

Delivering the presentation, the Head of the Department of Communication and Public Relations From EPZA, Mr. Panduka Yonazi said that, the District has been a role model in the movement aspect to help the Nation in achieving an industrial economy. Mr. Yonazi added that there are no industries without zones, so the District's strategy in preparing zones is correct since investment zones have become rare in many parts of the World, thus calling on other Districts to emulate the economic steps taken by the District Commissioner.

Among the benefits that will be gained from the economic zone are the acceleration of industrial registration, processing of local raw materials, employment for Kahama residents as well as markets for their various products.

In addition, the visit had the opportunity to visit the Benjamin William Mkapa SEZ industrial area, and see various manufacturing activities including the production of clothing for the US market.

Among other things, EPZA and Kahama District have discussed on close cooperation for the benefit of Kahama District as well as the development of the Nation as a whole.
