The Parliamentary Committee on Budget
On March 8, 2022, The Parliamentary Committee on Budget visited the Export Production Authority (EPZA) where among other things it acknowledged satisfaction with the effort that EPZA has been taking in attracting investment in the country.
During the visit, the Committee accompanied by the Minister of Industry and Trade Investment Dr. Ashatu K. Kijaji and Director General of EPZA Mr. Charles Itembe who had the opportunity to visit some of the factories located within the Benjamin Mkapa Special Economic Zone, Mabibo in Dar Es Salaam.
The committee was able to reach the Took Garments (T) textile factory and the DZ Cards Factory which manufactures electronic cards where the committee as a whole acknowledged its interest in the type of investment made in the two factories that employ more than 4350 people and make more investments. of US $ 19.9 million .
For his part, the Director General of EPZA, Mr. Charles Itembe outlined the strategies that EPZA aims to implement in order to attract more investors to the country. One of the strategies is the use of ICT, eliminating bureaucracy and creating a policy-friendly and legal environment as one of the priority areas that EPZA aims to use to further stimulate industrial investment.
